Embersyn Graham Lord

Embersyn Graham Lord, 1 year, 5 months, and 13 days old, became safe in the arms of Jesus on Sunday, July 7, 2024. He was born on January 25, 2023, in Normal, IL, the son of Brandi and Matthew Lord. He is survived by his parents, Brandi and Matthew Lord; his brother, Raceyn Miller; maternal grandparents, Lisa (Steve) McBride and David (Marcia) Sullivan; paternal grandparents, Robert “Pa” and Trina “MawMaw” Lord; maternal great-grandparents, William “Pop Pop” Bowman, Mary Jo Sullivan, David Sullivan Sr., and Marcia Wilson; paternal great-grandparents, Donna Lord, Debbie “Grandma Fox” Fox, Chris “Papa Chris” and Linda “Grandma Linda” Norris, and Chris “Grandpa Lamb” and Kim Lamb. Embersyn is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Kelly Sullivan, Steven McBride (Heather Hornback), Josh and Patti Hetherington, Nathan and Katelinn “Aunt KK” Lord, Brandon and Kelly Lord, Sarah “Aunt Banana” Lord (Logan Evans “Uncle Logie”), Courtney Bowman, and RaeAnn “Aunt Rae Rae” Garcia; his cousins, Luke Lord, Drew Hetherington, and Daniel Hetherington; a great-uncle, Tim Bowman; and his special friend and daycare provider, Misty Swanson. He was preceded in death by his great uncle, Chris Bowman; paternal grandmother, Cindy Norris; maternal great-grandmother, Phylis Bowman “Graham Cracker”; and paternal great-grandfather, Bob Lord. Embersyn looked up to his big brother, Raceyn. He loved to watch him play sports and they enjoyed playing games like peek-a-boo together. One could always find Embersyn wearing crocs, just like his big brother. He loved music and could be found marching to “I’m in the Lord’s Army” or singing along to “Jesus Loves Me”. He enjoyed watching the Ms. Rachel program, going to the park to play, being outside, and playing with balls of all kinds. He especially loved playing with springy doorstops and could sometimes be found behind doors giggling and playing. During daycare, Embersyn loved circle time and reading books. He would always giggle during the ABC’s, laughing at the “LMNOP” part of the song. Embersyn had the absolute best laugh and will always be remembered for the joy he brought to those around him. Embersyn and his family are members of Christian Life Church in Rantoul. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, at Christian Life Church (300 N. Maplewood Dr.) in Rantoul. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10:00am, with additional visitation one hour prior, also at Christian Life Church in Rantoul. A graveside service will follow at Glen Cemetery in Paxton.
