Jim "Crow" Fox

Jim “Crow” Fox, 75, of Paxton, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025. He was born on December 6, 1949, in Paxton, the son of Bill and Jo (Stagen) Fox. Jim married Carol Johnson on December 10, 1977, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buckley. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol Fox; his mother, Jo Fox; two children, Corey (Marie) Fox, and Jodie (Micah) Luebchow; one sister, Wilma (Tom) Kuznacki; six grandchildren, Bailey, Payton, Shelby, and Kyndall Luebchow, and C.J. and Ryann Fox; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Fox; his nephew, Brian Marshall; and brothers-in-law, Edgar (Barb) Johnson, Jerry Johnson, and Ed Welvaert. Jim began his lifelong passion for driving at just 14 years old. He owned and operated Fox Transport Co. until its sale and his retirement in 2021, and later continued doing what he loved by driving for Loschen Farms. A devoted sports fan, Jim proudly cheered on the Cubs, the Fighting Illini, PBL, Broome, NKU, Clemson, and his favorite NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. He also enjoyed golfing whenever he had the chance. A talented athlete himself, Jim was a standout basketball player during his time at Paxton Community High School and spent many years playing, managing, and coaching the Paxton Swedes. He also coached his children’s sports teams and, even when not officially on the sidelines, could often be found offering guidance and encouragement from the stands. Above all, Jim loved being a dad—but he loved being a papa even more. He never missed a chance to show up for his grandchildren and was always their biggest fan in everything they did. Jim was a faithful member and past President of First Lutheran Church in Paxton. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Cox-Knapp Funeral Home in Paxton. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at First Lutheran Church in Paxton, with additional visitation starting at 12:00 p.m., at church. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery in Paxton. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, Paxton, or PBL Booster Club.
